In the sidebar, open **Administration**, then choose **Team & Roles** under **Team & Access**. The page address is `/settings/org/users`. The page heading reads **Team members**.

## Before you start

- Your admin has to give your role permission to add users, and permission to view roles so you can pick the new person's roles.
- Your plan sets a user limit. Active users and pending invitations both count toward it.
- This page invites people. To add an AI teammate, use **AI Teammates** instead; see [[add-an-ai-agent-teammate]].

## Steps

1. Press **Add user**. The **Add user** drawer opens.
2. Type an **Email**, a **Phone number**, or both.
3. Under **Send invitation via**, choose **Email** or **Text message**. Nova sends through only that method. Text messages come from Nova's system number; emails come from Nova's notification address.
4. Type their **First name** and **Last name**.
5. Under **Permissions**, turn on at least one role. Each role shows a line about who it is for. Roles decide what the person can see and do; see [[choose-a-built-in-role]] if you are not sure which one fits.
6. If you are adding several people, turn on **Keep this drawer open** so the drawer stays put after each one.
7. Press **Add**. Nova sends the invitation using your chosen method and the drawer shows **Invite sent**, **Invite expires** and the **Invitation URL**.
8. If delivery fails, press **Copy invitation URL** and send the link yourself.

## What you see

- The new person appears in the list with an **Invite pending** tag beside their name until they accept. Someone who already has a Nova account accepts with their existing sign-in; someone new sets up their account from the link. A phone-only invite asks for a sign-in email during setup. Accepting a text invitation does not verify that email.
- Each person's row has an **Actions** menu with **Edit roles**, **Invitation details** or **Edit details**, and **Revoke invitation** or **Revoke access**. See [[change-a-team-members-roles]].
- AI teammates are listed with your people. They carry an **AI** tag and their title beside the name, and their only action is **Manage AI teammate**, which opens the **AI Teammates** page where their roles, hours and limits live.
- Use **Search members** to find someone, and the columns button to add columns such as **Status**, **Employee ID** or **Roles (all)**.

## If something looks different

- Opening someone else's invitation while you are signed in shows which email the invitation belongs to. You can return to your workspace or sign out to continue with the invited account. To read help first, select **Contact** at the bottom, then **Help**; this keeps your current sign-in and workspace.
- **Add user** is greyed out with "User limit reached.": remove a user or revoke a pending invitation before adding another, or upgrade your plan.
- **Add** refuses with "This user already exists in the organization." or that they have already been invited: search the list instead.
- The **Permissions** list says role visibility is required: your role can add users but cannot see roles. Ask your admin.
- The **Owner** role is not in the list: only Nova support can give someone the Owner role.
- The invitation never arrived: open **Invitation details** on the row and press **Copy URL** to send the current link yourself. If it has passed **Invite expires**, revoke the invitation and add the person again.
