In the sidebar, open **Administration**, then choose **Accounting Handoff** under **Integrations & API**. The page address is `/settings/org/integrations/accounting`.

## Before you start

- Your role needs permission to read accounting integrations to open the page, and to create, update or delete them to change anything.
- Nova stays the place where the work happens. A destination here is where your accountant receives the numbers; the ledger, reconciliation and closing live in their software.
- A destination is a record for your team, not a live connection: Nova does not sign in to QuickBooks Online or Xero or send anything to them from this page. The files your accountant imports come from **Open export center** on this page, with or without a destination. See [[export-your-books]].
- The currency of a destination is locked to your organization's currency.

## Steps

1. Scroll to **Add Destination**.
2. Choose the **Provider**: **QuickBooks Online**, **Xero**, **CSV Export** or **Generic API**.
3. Type a **Display name** your team will recognize, such as the accountant's firm.
4. Set the **Status**. New destinations usually start as **Draft** or **Configuring** and move to **Connected** once the accountant confirms it works.
5. Choose the **Connection mode** you agreed with your accountant: **Export only** for files, **Push** or **Hybrid**. The page suggests starting with export only.
6. Pick the **Export format**: **CSV**, **JSON** or **NDJSON**. CSV opens in any spreadsheet.
7. Fill in what your accountant gave you: the **Credential reference**, the **External organization ID** of the company file in their software, and the **Destination region**.
8. Set **Sync window days**, how many days back each handoff covers, and add **Notes** for the next person.
9. Press **Add destination**.

## What you see

- The counts at the top show **Connected Destinations**, **Export-Only Destinations** and the **Last Handoff**, which reads "N/A" because nothing on this page records a handoff yet.
- Each destination under **Configured Destinations** lists its provider, status, mode, format and currency as short codes (such as `quickbooks_online` and `export_only`), with **Edit** and **Delete**. **Edit** loads it into the form, which then reads **Update Destination** with **Save destination** and **Cancel edit**.
- **Open billing administration** opens the **Sales & Billing** group on the **Settings** page.

## If something looks different

- **Add destination** is greyed out: the organization's currency is not set up yet. If pressing it shows a permission message, your role cannot create destinations.
- Nova does not change a destination's status on its own. When the accountant reports a problem, set its **Status** to **Needs attention** so the team knows to check the credential reference and external organization ID with them.
- The **Default currency** field says a historical currency is read-only: this destination was set up before the organization currency changed; new exports use the current one.
- **Delete** removes the destination right away, without asking again. Set the **Status** to **Disabled** instead if you may need it later.
