In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Resource Constraints** under **Scheduling**. The page address is `/settings/org/schedule-constraints/resources`.

A resource is a team member or piece of equipment that can be put on the schedule. This page attaches skills and territories to each one for the branch you are viewing.

## Before you start

- The resources themselves are created elsewhere. If the person is not in the list, add them under **Resources** first; **Add resource** on this page only points you there.
- Create your skills and territories first; see [[add-a-scheduling-skill]] and [[add-a-territory]].
- Anyone whose role can read scheduling resources can open the list. Changing constraints needs its own permission.

## Steps

1. Find the person with **Search resources** and press **Edit** on their row. The **Edit resource constraints** drawer opens.
2. Under **Skills**, search and pick each skill the person holds. **Use all current skills** gives them every skill that exists today; skills you add later still have to be added by hand.
3. Under **Territory coverage**, choose **Selected territories** and pick the areas they cover, or **All territories** so they match every active territory, including ones you add later.
4. Press **Save changes**.

While creating a work order on the Schedule, a warning can offer a quick action to add the selected resource to a territory covering the service location. The action needs permission to update resources, adds that coverage immediately, and keeps every territory they already cover.

## What you see

- The list shows each **Resource** with its **Skills**, **Territories** and when it was **Updated**. The column button can add **Resource type**, **Status**, **Schedulable**, **Work hours** and **Timezone**.
- Scheduling uses these constraints to check whether a person is eligible for work that requires a skill or falls inside a territory.

## If something looks different

- The list says there are no schedulable resources yet: create a resource before assigning constraints. Press **Add resource**, then **Go to resources**.
- **Skills** says to create skills first, or **Territories** says to create territories: those lists are empty.
- **Edit** is missing on every row: your role can read resource constraints but not change them.
