A company's booking page opens from a link on its website, in an email, or from a QR code. Its address starts with `/book/`. You do not need a portal account to book. The company's name and logo sit at the top, with its phone and email when it shares them, and a step counter shows how far along you are.

## Before you start

- Each company sets up its own page, so the steps you see and their names can differ from the ones below. Some pages skip steps, for example when the link is for one service only.
- Have the address where the work is needed, your email address and your phone number ready.

## Steps

1. Under **Choose a service**, select the service you want. Type in **Search services** when the list is long. Select **Book Service** to go on.
2. If asked **Where do you need service?**, type the address and pick it from the suggestions, or choose **Manual** and fill in the fields. The page checks that the company works at that address before you can go on.
3. Under **Select a date and time**, pick a day on the calendar, then a time under **Available times**. Select **Next**.
4. If asked to **Choose a provider**, pick a team member, or **Any available** to let the company assign one.
5. Under **Tell us about you**, fill in your name, **Email** and **Phone**, and describe what you need in the notes box. Answer any extra questions the company added under **Additional details**.
6. If the page asks you to **Verify your phone to book** or **Verify your email to book**, select **Send verification code**, type the 6-digit code you receive and select **Verify**.
7. Select **Review**, check everything under **Review your booking**, and select the line agreeing to the company's terms and privacy policy if one is shown.
8. Select **Confirm & Book**. The company may have given this button its own name. If a payment is due now, the page moves on to payment. See [[pay-a-deposit-when-you-book]].

## What you see

- Once you pick a time, a bar may say the company is holding it for you, with a countdown. Finish booking before it runs out.
- When it is done, the page shows **You're booked** with a **Reference** (select it to copy it), the **Service**, **When**, any **Arrival window** and the **Service address**.
- **Add to calendar** saves the appointment to your calendar. **Manage this booking** opens the page where you can change or cancel it. See [[change-or-cancel-a-booking]].
- The company emails you a confirmation with your reference. Keep the confirmation page's manage link too: the email may not include it. See [[booking-confirmation-message]].

## If something looks different

- **Request received** or **Request submitted** instead of **You're booked**: the company reviews each request first and contacts you by email or phone. **Time to be determined** means you picked a day and the company sets the time.
- No times on a day: select **Why no times?** for the reason, or pick another day. If **Join waitlist** appears, you can ask to be told when a time opens up.
- The hold ran out: select **Check this time** to try the same time again, or **Pick a new time**.
- Add a code with **Add discount code**, then **Apply code**. A code marked **Not applied** does not work for this booking.
- **Booking unavailable**: the link is wrong, or the company has turned online booking off. Contact the company.
