In the sidebar, open **Administration**, then choose **Team & Roles** under **Team & Access**. The page address is `/settings/org/users`. The page heading reads **Team members**.

## Before you start

- Your admin has to give your role permission to edit user roles, and permission to view roles to see the list of roles.
- Revoking someone's access is recorded in the audit log, and Nova asks you why.

## Steps

To change someone's roles:

1. Find the person with **Search members** and open the **Actions** menu on their row.
2. Choose **Edit roles**.
3. Under **Assigned roles**, turn roles on or off. Each role shows a line about who it is for. A person needs at least one role.
4. Press **Save roles**. The assigned roles update in the drawer.

To update their details:

1. From the **Actions** menu, choose **Edit details** (or select the person's row). The **Edit team member** drawer opens.
2. Change **First name**, **Last name**, **Work email**, **Work phone** or **Employee ID**, then press **Save changes**. **Employee ID** cannot be left blank. These details apply only in this organization; the person's sign-in email and security settings stay under their own profile. Clear a work email or phone to use the one on their profile again.

To remove someone from the organization:

1. From the **Actions** menu, choose **Revoke access** (or **Revoke invitation** for someone who has not accepted yet).
2. Read the named warning. A red action confirms access removal. If the person has upcoming assignments you can **Review Schedule** before confirming. Pick a **Reason category** and add a note when your organization asks for one, then press **Revoke access**.

## What you see

- Revoking access takes away the person's roles, overrides and branch access in this organization straight away. Their Nova account and the history of what they did are kept.
- **Edit roles** has an **Advanced overrides** link for a one-off permission a role does not cover; see [[give-a-user-a-permission-override]].
- Your own row is marked **(You)**.
- An AI teammate's row offers only **Manage AI teammate**. Its roles, hours, pause and retire are on the **AI Teammates** page; see [[pause-or-retire-an-ai-agent]].

## If something looks different

- **Save roles** refuses because it would remove your own ability to manage users: you are editing yourself. Ask another admin to make the change.
- The **Owner** role is not in the list, and the drawer says "Protected roles cannot be removed. Contact a platform admin.": the Owner role is managed by Nova support. Saving other roles leaves a person's Owner role in place.
- **Edit roles** is missing from the menu: your role can see the team but not change roles, or the person has not accepted their invitation yet. Roles for a pending invitation are set when you add the person.

Both the details and roles drawers offer **Copy link**. The link opens the same person in the same organization after a reload. **Edit roles** and **Edit details** let you switch between the drawers. Unsaved changes offer saving, discarding or staying to edit.
