In the sidebar, open **Inventory**, then **Low Stock**. The page address is `/inventory/low-stock`. The page heading reads **Low stock**.

This page is a watch list, not a stock ledger. It lists every product or part that has a **Reorder point** and whose stock on hand, added up across your locations, is at or below it. Reorder points are set on **Products & Parts** ([[add-a-product-or-part]]); counts are made on [[count-stock|Stock Counts]] and single corrections on [[record-a-stock-movement|Movement History]]. The tabs **All products & parts**, **Sell at counter** and **Low stock** at the top switch between three views of the same items.

## Before you start

- Your role needs inventory lookup for the register. Ask your admin if the page shows an access message.

## Steps

1. Read the three counts above the list: **Locations**, **Movements** (register sales and returns) and **Low stock** (how many items are at or below their reorder point).
2. Type into **Search low-stock item name, SKU, or severity**, or open the **Filters** panel and pick a **Severity**: **All severity**, **Out of stock**, **Critical** or **Low**.
3. Press an item, or choose **Inspect** from its row menu. A panel opens showing **On hand**, the **Reorder point** and the item's **Severity**.
4. Read **Recent POS-linked movements** to see the latest counter sales and returns that changed the count.
5. When it is time to reorder, open a supplier purchase order for the item. See [[create-a-supplier-purchase-order]].

## What you see

- Each row shows **Item**, **SKU**, **On hand**, **Reorder point**, **Gap** (how far below the reorder point it is) and **Severity**. The list starts with the biggest gap. **Columns** adds **Recent movements**.
- **Severity** reads **Out of stock** at zero or less, **Critical** at half the reorder point or less, and **Low** otherwise.
- **Open in Sell at counter** in the panel goes to the item's register settings (see [[prepare-an-item-for-the-register]]). **Open inventory item** opens the item on **Products & Parts**, and **View stock ledger** opens **Movement history**.
- The **Sell at counter** button at the top opens the register settings, **POS lane** opens the register, and **Products & parts** and **Movement history** above the list open those pages.

## If something looks different

- The list reads "Nothing is running low right now.": no item with a reorder point is at or below it. If a filter is on, press **Reset filters**.
- An item you know is low is missing: it has no reorder point set. Open it on **Products & Parts** and set one.
- The **Low stock** count is higher than the rows you see: the list shows at most ten items. Work through them, or use **Products & Parts** with the **Reorder point** column to see the rest.
- The on-hand count looks wrong: a sale outside the register, a delivery or a count may not be recorded yet. Check the **Movement history**.
