In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Service Asset Profiles** under **Accounts**. The page address is `/settings/org/service-assets/profiles`. It is the **Profiles** tab of the service asset settings.

A profile is the set of details Nova collects for an asset: the fields on the editor and the identifiers it expects. Every asset type is bound to one profile. This page lists the types and lets you change the binding.

## Before you start

- Your role needs permission to manage service asset settings.
- Types themselves are created on the **Taxonomy** tab. See [[set-up-service-asset-types-and-subtypes]].

## Steps

1. Find the card for the asset type. Its heading is the type name, with the description under it.
2. Open the list on the card and pick the profile you want.
3. That is all. Nova saves as soon as you pick and confirms with a message that the profile binding was updated.

## What you see

- The top right of each card shows how many assets use the type and how many active subtypes it has.
- The greyed-out **Managed from taxonomy** button is a reminder that renaming, describing or deactivating the type happens on the **Taxonomy** tab, not here.
- With **Auto-apply profile from type** switched on under **Defaults**, picking a type in the asset editor sets the profile you chose here. See [[set-service-asset-defaults]].

## If something looks different

- The page says you do not have permission to manage service asset profiles: ask your admin.
- No cards appear: no asset types exist yet. Create them on the **Taxonomy** tab.
- Changing the profile shows an error: the change was not saved. Try again, and if it keeps failing, contact support.
