In the sidebar, open **Projects & Tasks**, then **Tasks**. The page address is `/work/tasks`. The list shows every task you are allowed to see; the row menu is where you finish, reopen, archive or restore one without opening it.

## Before you start

- Marking a task done or reopening it needs the **Update tasks** permission.
- Archiving needs **Archive tasks**; bringing one back needs **Restore tasks**. Without them, **Archive** and **Restore** are not in the menu.

## Steps

1. Type in **Search tasks** at the top, or press **Filters** and narrow by **Status**, **Lifecycle** (**Active tasks**, **Archived tasks** or **All tasks**), **Person** and **Role** (**Owner**, **Collaborator**, **Follower** or **Any involvement**), **Account**, **Project** or **Work Order**.
2. Open the menu at the end of the task's row.
3. Choose **Mark as done**. The task moves to your organization's completed status. On a finished task the same item reads **Reopen**.
4. To take a task off the active list, choose **Archive**. **Archive this task?** names the task and its subtasks; give a reason if it asks for one, then press **Archive task** to confirm.
5. To bring one back, set **Lifecycle** to **Archived tasks**, open the row menu and choose **Restore**, then confirm with **Restore task**.

Already on the task? Open its **Actions** menu (⋯). **Archive task** is the last item, in red. An archived task still opens: a banner at the top says it is archived, nothing on it can be changed, and **Restore task** brings it back.

## What you see

- Each row shows the **Task**, its **Status**, **Assignee**, **Due** date, what it is **Linked** to and when it was **Updated**. Press **Manage columns** to add **Priority**, **Start**, **Completed** and others.
- **Edit** in the row menu opens the task for editing. On a phone, each card also has a pencil button that does the same.
- **Reset filters** clears everything you set. **Saved views** keeps a filter set for next time.

## If something looks different

- **Mark as done** is greyed out: your role cannot update tasks, or the task is already in that status.
- **Archive** and **Restore** are missing from the menu: your role lacks those permissions.
- **No tasks found.**: the search or filters excluded everything; press **Reset filters**.
- Archiving a task also archives its subtasks, and restoring it brings them back. That is expected.
- You want to see only your own work: **My Work** in the sidebar shows it sorted by urgency; see [[see-your-work-for-today]].
