In the sidebar, open **Accounts**, then **All Accounts**, and open the
customer. Press **Actions**, then **Edit account**. The editor opens at
`/accounts/` followed by the account and `/edit`. Its heading reads
**Maintain the account workspace**.

The editor puts everything about the account on one page: who they are, their
contacts, their service addresses and the basics of how you bill them. A
summary on the side lists each part and jumps to it.

## Before you start

Your role needs permission to change accounts. An archived account cannot be
edited; restore it first.

## Steps

1. Change what you need in the account section: **Account type**, name,
**Account number** and status. A choice from a list saves straight away. A
typed field saves when you press Enter or move to the next field. Each save
   shows **Account updated**.
2. Open **Advanced fields** to change the **Parent account**, the picture, or
   where the customer came from.
3. Open **Billing basics** to change the **Billing contact**, the
**Bill-to location**, payment terms and delivery choices. The customer's
**Billing Settings** tab has the full set.
4. In the contacts part, edit a contact in place, or open **Add contact** to
add a new person with their **Role**. A contact's menu can remove them from
   the account or archive them.
5. In the locations part, edit an address in place, or open
**Add account location** to add one. It shows **Saved** once it is kept.
6. Press **Save** to save anything still waiting, then **Back to account**.

## If something looks different

- You try to leave with changes that are not saved yet: Nova asks first, and
can save them for you before you go.
- "Failed to update account" with a reason: fix what it names and try again;
nothing else you changed is lost.
