In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Email Accounts** under **Communications** (`/settings/communications/email-accounts`). This screen appears after the Microsoft sign-in step of [[connect-a-microsoft-inbox]], when Nova shows **Nova's Microsoft setup needs attention** or **Microsoft returned an error**.

Microsoft did not accept the way Nova introduced itself. Microsoft's page may have said invalid client, invalid request, app not found, unsupported response type, or something about a redirect address. This is a problem with how Nova is registered with Microsoft, not with your mailbox or your password, and it is not something the **Email Accounts** page can change.

## Steps

1. Try once more from a clean start: select **Start mailbox setup again**, or close the browser window, open a new private window and start [[connect-a-microsoft-inbox]] again. A stale sign-in can produce the same message, and **Microsoft returned an error** usually clears this way.
2. If it happens again, open **Error details** at the bottom of the error screen and select **Copy details**. This copies the exact message from Microsoft. Paste it somewhere safe.
3. Select **Copy support info** as well. This copies what support needs to find the attempt.
4. Select **Go to Nova home**, open **Help** and choose **Report a problem**. Paste both, and say which mailbox you were connecting.
5. Wait for support to confirm the fix, then connect the mailbox again.

## What you see

While the problem stands, every attempt ends on the same screen, whichever mailbox you try. After support confirms the fix, [[connect-a-microsoft-inbox]] runs through to **Connected**.

## If something looks different

- Only one person sees it and others can connect mailboxes: it is more likely a browser or account problem. See [[microsoft-inbox-account-troubleshooting]].
- The screen says **Ask your Microsoft administrator** instead: Nova is registered correctly but needs your administrator's approval. See [[microsoft-inbox-admin-consent]].
- **Open support guidance** on the error screen opens this article; it does not contact support.
