While a quote the company sent you is still waiting for your answer, the company can follow up. The messages go to whoever the quote was sent to, by email, text or both:

- A first follow-up, 3 days before the quote expires. The email's subject is "Checking in on quote" and the quote number.
- A last nudge on the day it expires, with the same wording.
- One more after it expired, 3 days later by default. The email's subject is "Still considering quote" and the number, and says the company is happy to refresh it.

The company can move these days.

## Steps

1. Select the button in the email to open the quote, the same as in the original quote email. See [[quote-email]].
2. Approve it, ask for changes or decline it. See [[approve-or-decline-a-quote]].
3. To ask a question instead, reply to the email or text.

## What you see

- The email gives the date the quote expires. The text ends with a link to "View quote" and its number.
- Some follow-up emails carry the quote's PDF.
- Follow-ups stop as soon as you answer the quote.

## If something looks different

- If you ignore the follow-ups, the quote expires on its date and you can no longer answer it online. Contact the company for a fresh quote.
- After the quote expired, the link opens it marked **Expired**. You can still read it; ask the company to refresh it.
- You already answered: a follow-up may already have been on its way. The quote in the portal shows your answer.
- To stop quote follow-ups, ask the company to stop them for you, or reply STOP to a text. See [[stop-emails-and-texts-from-a-company]].
