At the bottom of the sidebar, select the version number ("NovaBMP" followed by the version). The page is headed **What's New**. The page address is `/whats-new`. When Nova shows a banner about a new version, **What's new** on the banner shows that version's notes.

## Steps

1. Read the newest releases under **Recent**. Releases your team should not miss sit above them under **Pinned**.
2. Each release shows its title, when it was published, what kind of change it is and the notes themselves.
3. To find something, type in **Search releases**, or narrow the list with **Platform**, **Type** (for example **Features** or **Fixes**) and **Tag**.
4. Once you have read a release, select **Mark as read**. Its chip changes from **Unread** to **Read**.
5. To share a release with a teammate, select **Copy link** and paste it into a message. The link opens the page at that release.
6. Under **Related requests**, select a feature request to see its public page: its status and the updates Nova's team has posted about it.

## What you see

- A red chip under the heading counts the newest release if you have not read it yet.
- The line under each release says whether it is an **Optional update.** or an **Update required for this release.**
- **Full release notes** and **Known issues** open longer notes in a new tab when a release has them. **View roadmap** and **Roadmap** show what is planned next.
- **About This Build** lists the version of Nova your browser and the server are running. Support may ask you for it when you report a problem.

## When Nova asks you to refresh

Nova checks for a newer copy of itself every few minutes and whenever you come back to the tab. There are two notices, and they mean different things:

- **Nova was updated.** with a **Refresh** button: the files behind the page changed, usually a small fix. Nothing new to read. Refresh when you have a moment; Nova asks you to save your work first.
- **Update available** with a version number, **What's new** and **Update & refresh**: a new version of Nova is out and has notes. Read them with **What's new**, then update when you are ready.

Neither notice refreshes the page on its own. If you keep working, Nova asks again later.

## If something looks different

- **No releases found for this filter yet.** Clear the search or set **Type** back to **All types**.
- Your read and unread marks are kept in this browser, so another computer may show the same release as unread.
- Signed out, the same address shows the public changelog, without read marks or the build details.

## If the Android app asks for an update

If Nova can no longer use the version installed on your phone, it opens an update screen.
Use Update Nova when an update link is available. After installing the update, reopen
Nova. Try again on the update screen checks whether the installed version can continue.
An update check keeps your sign-in details; it does not install a newer app by itself.

If there is no update link yet, ask the person who invited you for the latest build.
Development installs explain how to build and run the app again from Android Studio.
Opening the project in Android Studio does not change the app installed on the phone. If a
check fails because the phone is offline or Nova cannot be reached, the screen keeps
Try again available.
