In the sidebar, open **Sales & Billing**, then **Quotes**, and open the quote from the list. A quote you are allowed to change opens ready to edit; a link that ends in `/edit` opens it the same way.

## Pick the right way

- Edit it in place when the quote is sent but not answered, or approved but not yet turned into work. Change it and press **Save**. The customer's copy does not change until you send the update, and a changed approved quote needs the customer's approval again.
- **Create new revision** when you want to keep the price the customer saw and offer a new one. Nova starts a separately numbered draft linked to the original. If the original was still waiting for an answer, Nova withdraws it at the same time.
- **Withdraw quote** when the offer is off and nothing replaces it. The quote stays in your history and the customer's.

## Steps

To start a revision:

1. Open the actions menu (the three dots at the top of the quote) and press **See more**.
2. Choose **Create new revision**. The **Create a new quote revision?** window explains that customer decisions, approvals, signatures, delivery links and scheduled sends are not copied.
3. Press **Create revision draft**. Nova opens the new draft, ready to edit.
4. Make your changes, press **Save**, and send it. See [[send-a-quote]].

To withdraw the quote:

1. Open the actions menu and press **See more**. **Withdraw quote** sits last, in red.
2. Choose **Withdraw quote**. The **Withdraw this quote?** window opens.
3. Pick a **Reason category** if Nova asks for one, and add a **Business explanation** if it helps.
4. If the customer already has the quote, **Email the customer about this status change** is ticked. Check the **Recipients**, or untick it to withdraw without telling them.
5. Press **Withdraw quote**. The status chip reads **Canceled**.

## What you see

- After you edit a quote the customer already has, the arrow next to **Save** offers **Save and send the update**. The customer keeps the old copy until you send the new one.
- A revision is a new quote with its own number. If the original was still waiting for an answer, its chip now reads **Canceled**; an approved, declined or expired original keeps its status. Its history stays either way.
- If the withdrawal email could not be delivered, Nova says so. Choose **Retry status email** from the actions menu once the address is fixed. **Send status email** is there too if you skipped the email and change your mind.

## If something looks different

- The quote opens for viewing only and nothing can be typed: it has been turned into an invoice, withdrawn, or it has already created a work order or deposit request. Use **Create new revision**, or change the work order or the invoice instead.
- **Create new revision** is missing: the quote is still a draft (just edit it), or your role cannot revise quotes.
- **Withdraw quote** is greyed out: hover it to read why Nova will not end this offer.
- The customer turned the quote down: record that with **Mark declined** instead, so the reason is kept. See [[record-a-customers-decision-on-a-quote]].
