In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Price Approval Rules** under **Sales & Billing**. The page address is `/settings/org/billing/advanced-admin`. The page is titled **Advanced Commercial Administration**.

## Before you start

- Two kinds of rule live here. **Override Governance** says which roles may type over a price, cost or tax on a document. **Approval Governance** says which situations, such as a **Low margin** or a **Large discount**, need someone to approve the document first.
- Your role needs the permission to manage commercial governance to save changes. With read permission only, you can look.

## Steps

1. Press the **Override Governance** row. A panel opens for that surface.
2. Press **Add override rule**. For the new rule pick a **Target** (**Unit price**, **Total price**, **Unit cost**, **Tax treatment**, **Tax classification**, **Tax code** and others), a **Severity** (**Standard** or **Sensitive**), and the **Required permissions** a person needs to make that change.
3. Under **Allowed modes**, tick where the override may happen (**Preview**, **Draft**, **Freeze**), and under **Accepted approval states** which approval states let it through. Keep **Rule enabled** on.
4. Press **Save override policy**. The button reads **Saved** for a moment.
5. Go back to the list and press the **Approval Governance** row.
6. Press **Add approval rule**. Pick a **Trigger** (**Manual price override**, **Cost override**, **Tax override**, **Low margin**, **Negative margin**, **Large discount** and others) and a **Severity** (**Standard**, **Sensitive** or **Critical**).
7. Set the threshold that fires it: **Min margin %** for a low-margin rule, **Max discount %** for a large-discount rule, or **Min override delta (cents)** and **Min override delta %** for an override rule.
8. Under **Review permissions**, name the permission an approver needs. Under **Blocking modes**, tick where the document is held until approval, and under **Override targets** which fields the rule watches.
9. Press **Save approval policy**. The button reads **Saved** for a moment.

## What you see

- The list has four rows: **Bundle & Package Catalog** and **Discount Administration** are read-only views of your packages and discount rules; **Override Governance** and **Approval Governance** hold the rules you set here.
- Each governance panel shows a badge reading **Persisted policy** when your organization has saved its own rules, or **Default fallback** when Nova's standard rules still apply.
- **Reset to default** throws away your saved rules for that panel and returns to Nova's standard ones.
- **Advanced preview and explainer** at the bottom lets you describe a line with an override or approval state and see, under **Advanced preview result**, how the rules would treat it.

## If something looks different

- The panel says manage permission is required to save: your role can read the rules but not change them. Ask your admin.
- Approvals that these rules create show up on **Pricing Approvals**. See [[approve-or-reject-a-pricing-exception]].
- You want to change the rules for discounts themselves: that is **Discount Rules**, not this page.
