In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Services** under **Jobs & Booking**. The page address is `/settings/org/schedule-offerings`. Open an offering with **Edit** (or start one with **Add offering**) and scroll to **Pricing and tax settings** in the drawer.

## Before you start

- Your role needs permission to change offerings and to see pricing. If the section is missing, ask your admin.
- These are defaults. You can still change the price on any single quote or invoice line.
- The organization's currency must be set up; if it is not, **Create offering** is disabled until an admin fixes it.

## Steps

1. **Pricing and tax settings** is open when the drawer opens. Press its bar to fold it away; folded, its summary line shows the pricing model, price, tax and status at a glance.
2. Next to **Commercial status**, leave the switch on so it reads **Active** and the offering can be added to quotes and invoices. Switch it off for **Inactive**.
3. Under **Pricing model**, choose how you charge: **Flat rate**, **Hourly**, **Per quantity**, **Per person**, **Per night**, **Per unit** or **Custom**.
4. Check **Currency**, then type the **Unit price** and a **Default quantity** (usually 1).
5. Under **Cost strategy**, leave **Default** unless you track cost a particular way, and type a **Default unit cost** if you want margin worked out for you.
6. Under **Tax treatment default**, say whether the service is normally taxed: **Taxable / profile-driven**, **Zero-rated**, **Exempt** or **Out of scope**.
7. Press **Show advanced** to set a **Tax category** and **Tax code** or a fixed **Tax rate (%)**, plus **Effective start** and **Effective end** dates, **Bundle role** and **Recurring plan code**. Press **Hide advanced** to fold them away again.
8. Press **Save changes** at the bottom of the drawer, or **Create offering** for a new one.

## What you see

- After you save, the drawer shows a **Commercial preview** with **Resolved Unit Price**, **Resolved Discount**, **Margin** and **Preview Subtotal**, which is what a quote line would show today. On a new offering the preview says to save the offering first.
- Rows in the Offerings list do not show the price; open the offering to see it.

## If something looks different

- The folded summary reads "No price set": no price has been set yet.
- **Currency** says historical pricing is read-only and the price fields are greyed out: the offering was priced in a currency your organization no longer uses.
- **Default unit cost** or **Margin** is missing: your role can see prices but not costs.
- You need a price on a part rather than a service: see [[add-a-product-or-part]].
