Select your picture or initials at the right end of the top bar, select **Profile**, then choose the **Calling** tab. The page address is `/profile/calling`. The tab only appears when your role can make or see calls.

Everything saves as soon as you change it; a small **Saved** shows on the card.

## Steps

1. Under **Softphone behavior**, set how calling in your browser works for you:
   - **Enable browser softphone**: **Disabled** removes the phone from Nova and stops its call alerts until you turn it back on.
   - **Auto-connect on sign-in**: leave it **Enabled** if you take calls as soon as you sign in.
   - **Remember last status**: keeps you on **Away** or **Do Not Disturb** between visits instead of resetting.
   - **Default availability**: the status you start in when Nova cannot restore the last one. **Available** suits most people.
   - **Decline behavior**: what a quick tap on decline does, **Immediate** or **Ring Out**.
   - **Enable on mobile and tablet web**: shows the softphone on a phone or tablet browser. It is off by default to save room.
2. Under **Recorded calling from your phone**, set up calling from your own cell phone through a company line. Choose your number in **Verified caller phone**.
3. Type an **Access code** of digits and repeat it in **Confirm access code**. The card says how many digits your company asks for (up to 12).
4. Press **Save code**. Nova says "Dial-through access code saved."
5. Under **Dial-through profiles**, read how to call: **Call this** is the number you dial, **Customer sees** is the number your customer sees, and **Callbacks** is where their call-backs go. Dial it, enter your access code, then the number you want to reach. The call is recorded like any other company call.
6. Under **Phone and email launch behavior**, choose what happens when you click a phone number or an email address, separately for **Desktop phone links**, **Mobile phone links**, **Desktop email links** and **Mobile email links**: Nova's own **Browser softphone** or **Nova inbox composer**, or your device's **System phone app** or **System mail app**. The first choice in each list keeps your company's setting.

## What you see

- The cards across the top of the dial-through section show whether **Organization access** is on, how many profiles are ready, and your access code's length and last use.
- Once saved, your number is listed under **Your credentials**. **Rotate code** replaces the code; **Disable** turns off calling from that number after you confirm **Disable access**.

## If something looks different

- The dial-through section says to add and verify a phone first: add a number that takes calls and verify it on the **Contacts** tab ([[add-an-email-or-phone-to-your-profile]]).
- It says your role cannot use it, or it is not enabled: ask your admin. They manage it under **Cellular Dial-Through** ([[check-cellular-dial-through-access]]).
- Your credential shows "Locked until" a time: too many wrong codes. Wait, or ask your admin to unlock it.
- You forgot your code: Nova cannot show it again. Type a new one and press **Rotate code**.
