In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Schedule Policies** under **Scheduling**. The page address is `/settings/org/schedule`. The page heading reads **Schedule settings**.

## Before you start

- Everything under **Organization schedule** applies to the branch selected in the top bar; **Organization scheduling defaults** at the bottom apply to the whole organization.
- Your role needs the schedule settings permission to change anything. Without it the page opens read-only.
- There is no save button: **Changes save automatically.**

## Steps

1. Under **Organization schedule**, set the **Timezone**, or leave the organization default.
2. Set **Default slot size (minutes)** by typing a number or pressing a chip (5 to 60). This is the grid spacing and snap step on the Schedule.
3. Set **Time picker steps on the Schedule (minutes)** the same way. This is the step between times in the time pickers on a visit.
4. Turn **Allow overlaps** on to let two visits share a time on one person's calendar. Nova only warns.
5. Turn **Move arrival window with appointment** on so the customer's window shifts when you move a visit.
6. Under **Arrival window for new jobs**, pick how wide a window the customer is told when a work order first gets a time. **None (exact time)** gives the exact start. Each work order can still change it.
7. Under **Work hours**, set a start and end time for each day. Press **Close day** on days you do not work; a closed day shows **Closed**.
8. Under **Scheduling policies**, set **Service template default**: **Use template** starts every new work order from a service template, **No template** starts it blank.
9. Under **Work order calendar title**, pick how a visit is named on the Schedule when the dispatcher leaves the title blank. **Custom** opens a **Custom title template** field.
10. At the bottom, under **Organization scheduling defaults**, choose where the Schedule opens (see below), then set **Start of week** and **Default list page size**, and switch **Show business hours only** and **Show week numbers** on or off.

> **Note:** **Auto-adjust end time when start time changes** sets a visit's end a fixed number of minutes after its start (60 by default). **New schedule start-time auto-adjust** picks the time a new visit is offered first.

## Where the Schedule opens

**Calendar opens in (computer)** and **Calendar opens in (phone)** each offer **Month**, **Week**, **Work week**, **3 day** and **Day**; both start on **Month**. A narrow screen uses the phone choice. Anyone can switch views on the Schedule; the choice lasts for that visit, and next time the Schedule opens on the view set here. Saved views keep filters and display options, never the view.

## What you see

- **Conflict policy (internal)** and **Conflict policy (non-privileged)** decide what happens when a booking clashes: **Block** refuses it, **Allow with override** lets people with override permission go ahead.
- **Enable multi-slot plans**, **Enable capacity pools** and **Enable manual plan commit** turn on planning features. Some show "Requires the ... entitlement" when your plan does not include them.
- **Scheduling setup warnings** links to whatever is missing: resources, a crew or a capacity pool.
- The **Time Off & Availability** card links to **Open availability admin** and **Calendars & closures**.

## If something looks different

- Fields are greyed out: your role can view but not change schedule settings. Ask your admin.
- **Schedule colors** is missing or read-only: see [[set-schedule-colors]].
- **Lodging policies** appears only when lodging is included in your plan.
- Holidays and shutdown days are not set here. See [[add-a-holiday-calendar]] and [[add-a-closure]].
