In the sidebar, open **Settings**, then choose **Legal & Policies** under **Website & Forms**. The page address is `/settings/org/legal-pages`.

The footer of your customer portal links to whichever of your legal pages carry the **Portal footer** placement (or **Public footer**). Until one of them is published, the portal has no policy links, and the page shows a warning at the top so you can fix it.

## Before you start

- Your role needs permission to write legal pages to change placements, and permission to publish them to make the links live.
- Decide which pages belong in the portal. Most companies show **Privacy Policy** and **Terms of Service** there.

## Steps

1. Read the warning **Your customer portal has no policy links** at the top of the list. It either says no page is set to show in the portal, or names pages that are set to show but not published yet.
2. If a page is named, press **Open it** next to it; the list scrolls to that page and highlights it. Press the page to open it. Otherwise open the page you want in the portal from the list.
3. Under **Placements** in the editor, press **Portal footer** so it is selected. **Public footer** also counts.
4. Press **Save draft**. If the page is already published, you are done: placements take effect as soon as you save.
5. If the page is still a draft, press **Publish**, then **Publish version** in the dialog. The link appears in the portal footer the next time a customer opens it.
6. Repeat for each page you want listed. Use **Sort order** to control the order of the links.

## What you see

- The three counters above the list, **Public policy set**, **Published links** and **Needs attention**, tell you how many pages you have, how many are live, and how many still need something from you.
- In the list, the **Placements** column shows a page's first three placements and a count for the rest; open the page to see them all.
- Once at least one portal page is published, the warning disappears.

## If something looks different

- The warning is still there after publishing: check that the page you published has **Portal footer** or **Public footer** under **Placements**, not only **Booking footer** or **Intake footer**.
- The warning is gone but the portal still shows no link: that page's **Visibility** is **Disabled**. Set it to **Public link after publish** and press **Save draft**.
- You published again after only changing placements and the dialog says the draft matches the current version: that is expected. Close it; the placement already took effect when you saved.
- You cannot press the placements: your role can read legal pages but not edit them. Ask your admin.
