In the sidebar, open **Administration**, then choose **General** under **Company**. The page address is `/settings/org/general`.

## Before you start

- Anyone whose role can read organization settings can open this page. To change a field, your admin has to give your role permission to write organization settings; otherwise the fields are locked.
- Nova saves each field on its own as soon as you leave it (press Enter or click somewhere else). There is no page-level save button; the fields lock for a moment while a change is being stored.

## Steps

1. Type your company's name in **Organization name**. This is the name customers see on quotes, invoices and messages.
2. Pick your **Timezone**. Type a city or region to search the list.
3. Choose a **Time format**: **Regular (12-hour)** or **24-hour**. Everyone in the organization sees times this way.
4. To let team members pick their own clock, turn on **User time format override**. Under the switch, Nova shows how many members have saved a preference. Turning it off again while members have saved preferences asks you to confirm with **Disable overrides**, because those preferences stop applying; **Keep enabled** leaves things as they are. **Clear saved preferences**, which appears once someone has saved one, wipes every saved preference so everyone starts from the organization default; confirm with **Clear preferences**.
5. Choose your **Country**. Nova currently supports Canada and the United States. The **Default currency** follows the country (CAD or USD) and cannot be changed on its own.
6. Pick an **Industry**, or type a new one and choose the create option that appears to add it to your list.
7. Enter your **Website** and pick a **Default language**.
8. Under **Organization logo**, upload a clear square mark. It shows to everyone in the workspace.
9. Use **Notes** for anything internal about the company. Customers never see it.

## What you see

- **Slug** and **Organization ID** are read-only. Support may ask you for the Organization ID.
- **Subscription plan**, **Created** and **Last updated** are read-only as well.
- Below the form sits **Where you are online**, the list of your Google, Facebook and other pages. See [[add-where-you-are-online]].

## If something looks different

- A field will not take your change: your role can read these settings but not change them. Ask your admin.
- **Country** refuses to change: your organization already has financial records or a payment account, so the country and currency are locked together.
- The **Industry** list is empty: nobody has added an industry yet. Type the first one here.
