Read a company's policies and terms

Find and read the privacy policy, terms, booking and payment policies a company publishes, from the portal, its booking page or its emails, and check which version applies.

Updated in release 0.0.1 Open this page in Nova

Each company publishes its own policies, such as its privacy policy, terms of service, booking policy and payment and refund policy. In the portal, open Policies & terms at the bottom of the sidebar. The booking page and the company's emails link to them at the bottom too. A policy opens on its own page, at an address that starts with /public/ and ends in the policy's name.

Steps

  1. In the portal sidebar, select Policies & terms to unfold the list. On a phone, open the menu at the top left first.
  2. Select the policy you want, for example Privacy, Terms, Booking or Payments. Hold the pointer over a short name to see the policy's full title.
  3. Read the policy. It opens in a new tab, so the portal stays where you left it.

What you see

  • The company's name above the policy's title, and a short summary when the company wrote one.
  • The version number, the date it was published, and the date it takes effect when the company set one.
  • The policy text itself. Links inside it open in a new tab.
  • Beside the policies, the portal lists Website and the company's phone and email when it shares them.

If something looks different

  • Legal page unavailable: the company has not published that policy, or has taken it down. Contact the company for a copy.
  • Policies & terms is missing from the sidebar: the company has not published any policies for the portal.
  • The address ends in /v/ and a number: you opened one specific version of the policy, which may not be the latest. The company's current policy is the one linked from the portal.
  • When you book online or sign an agreement, the page may ask you to accept a specific version of a policy. The link beside the tick box opens the policy you are agreeing to.
