Check and repair your connected social accounts

Connect Facebook Pages and Instagram through one Meta login, see which social accounts need attention, reconnect or refresh one that stopped working, and set social inbox read-receipt defaults.

Updated in release 0.0.1 Needs permission from your admin Open this page in Nova

In the sidebar, open Administration, then choose Social Accounts under Integrations & API. The page address is /settings/org/integrations/social. The same accounts can also be connected from the Social Calendar; see Connect a social account.

Before you start

  • Your role needs permission to read social accounts to open the page. Connecting, reconnecting and disconnecting need permission to manage them; without it the page says you have read-only access.
  • For Facebook and Instagram, have a login that manages the Page, and make sure the Instagram account is a business or professional account linked to that Page.
  • A network your administrator has not finished setting up shows why its connect button is unavailable.

Steps

To connect Facebook Pages or Instagram:

  1. In the Meta section, pick Facebook Pages or Instagram Business accounts. The card lists the most important prerequisites and what happens next.
  2. Press Continue with Meta. Your browser goes to Meta; sign in and choose the Pages or accounts Nova may use.
  3. You come back to Nova, and the accounts appear in the connected list. Other networks have their own buttons, such as Connect LinkedIn.

To check and repair an account:

  1. Search the list by name, handle or platform, or press a platform chip to filter. The counts show how many are healthy and how many need attention.
  2. On an account that needs attention, press Reconnect with Meta (or the network's reconnect button) and sign in again, or press Refresh token if it is offered.
  3. Press Test connection to confirm it works. Refresh account data reloads the card and tests the connection again; Sync inbox history fetches older messages where the network allows it.
  4. Press Disconnect to stop Nova using the account. It happens at once, without asking again. The account stays in the list with a reconnect button, and scheduled posts to it fail until it is connected again.

What you see

  • Accounts needing attention are grouped above the healthy ones, each with its connection status, credential state and, for networks with an inbox, when the inbox was last updated.
  • The recent-activity list below records who connected, reconnected, tested or disconnected each account and when. A wider audit panel with filters and export appears for roles that can view it.
  • Messaging defaults holds three switches for the social inbox: Show read receipts inside the social inbox, Enable provider mark-read sync, and whether marking a conversation read is passed to the network by default.
  • Where connected accounts are used links to the calendar, settings and inbox screens that depend on these accounts.

If something looks different

  • Continue with Meta is unavailable and names a reason: the Meta app is not set up yet, or you have reached the number of accounts your plan allows.
  • You return from Meta and nothing was added: no Page or account was selected on Meta's screen. Press Continue with Meta again.
  • A warning says background history updates are locked: Nova could not confirm their status. Reload the page before trying Sync inbox history.
  • Advanced provider setup and Meta diagnostics sections are shown: your role can view administration details; they describe the shared app and its health and need no action from you.
