Change the tabs on one customer or record
Hide, reorder or pick the opening tab for one customer, work order, project, task, service asset or portfolio, and for everything under one customer, without changing anyone else's.
In the sidebar, open Accounts, then All Accounts, and open the customer
(or open the work order, project, task, service asset or portfolio from its own
list). Press Actions, then choose Customize tabs. A panel opens on the
right. A customer's page address is /accounts/ followed by the customer.
The organization sets the tabs every record of a kind shows (Set the default tabs for record dashboards). This panel changes them for this one record only, and wins over the organization's choice and over anyone's own saved view. It is for the customer whose work orders never need Billing, or the project where Time should open first.
Before you start
- Your role needs permission to change dashboard settings. Without it Customize tabs is missing from the menu.
- If your plan does not include per-record tabs, the panel says so and the organization's tabs apply everywhere.
Steps
- At the top of the panel, choose Customize (the other choice, Organization default or Customer's setting, keeps what this record shows today). The list starts from the tabs the record shows now.
- Drag a tab by its handle, or use its up and down arrows, to change the order.
- Press a tab's Shown / Hidden switch to hide or show it.
- Choose Opens first on the tab that should open when someone opens the record.
- Changed your mind? Press Start over from the default.
- Press Save. Nova says Tab settings saved.
On a customer: records under this customer
A customer's panel has a second part, Records under this customer. Pick a Record type (work orders, projects and so on) and set the tabs every one of that customer's records of that type shows. A single record can still set its own tabs, which win over the customer's.
What you see
- Under the heading, a line says where the tabs come from now: the organization default, the customer's setting, or this record's own.
- Hiding a tab hides it from everyone who opens this record. Nothing on it is deleted; showing it again brings everything back.
If something looks different
- Every control is greyed out: you can see the settings but your role cannot change them.
- Choosing Organization default again removes this record's own setting.
