Nova Help

Find a setting

Open Settings to see every setting you can change as a card with a short description, search for one by name, or jump to an area such as Sales & Billing.

Updated in release 0.0.1 Open this page in Nova

In the sidebar, open Settings. It is near the bottom of the sidebar. The page address is /settings/org.

Settings is where you decide how each part of Nova works for your business: taxes and payments, the Schedule's hours, the messages customers get, templates and more. Settings about your company, your team and who can do what are under Administration instead. See Find an administration page.

Steps

  1. Type what you are looking for in Search settings at the top, for example tax or reminder. The cards narrow as you type. Press / from anywhere on the page to jump to the search box.
  2. Press Enter to open the first match, or select any card.
  3. To browse instead, select an area in the row under the search box, such as Sales & Billing. The page scrolls to that area's cards.
  4. Once you open a setting, the list of areas stays on the left of the page so you can move to another setting without coming back. On a phone, press the button above the page to open that list.

What you see

  • One group of cards per area: Accounts, Records & Fields, Projects & Tasks, Scheduling, Jobs & Booking, Sales & Billing, Communications and the rest. Template Center is the first card under Templates. Several areas also have their own status and tab cards, such as Project Statuses and Project Tabs.
  • Each card has an icon, the setting's name and one line about what it changes.
  • Specialist settings come after the everyday ones in each group.

If something looks different

  • A setting you expect is missing: it may be an Administration page, such as Team & Roles or Branding, so open Administration in the sidebar instead. Otherwise your role cannot open it, or your plan does not include that part of Nova. Ask your admin.
  • The page says nothing is available: your role has no settings pages. Ask an owner or administrator.
  • Nothing matches your search: try another word, or use Search in the top bar to look everywhere in Nova.
