Update your name, photo and time zone
Open your profile from the account menu, change the name your team sees, add a photo or initials, and set the time zone Nova shows your times in.
Select your picture or initials at the right end of the top bar to open your account menu, then select Profile. Nova opens the Overview tab of your profile, headed My Profile. The page address is /profile/overview.
The tabs along the top of your profile hold your personal settings: Contacts, Addresses, Organizations, Preferences, Notifications, Security and more. Some tabs only appear when your role uses them, such as My Day, My Time Off and Calling. Your customer photo belongs to the organization you are currently working in.
Steps
- Under Personal details, type your First name and Last name. Both are required. This is the name your team sees on assignments, notes and messages.
- Under Timezone, search for your time zone and pick it. If you are sitting where you work, select Use browser timezone to copy the one your computer uses.
- Select Save changes. Nova shows "Profile updated." and Saved. next to the button. Changed your mind before saving? Select Cancel to put the fields back.
- To add a photo, select the round picture at the top of the page. A menu opens.
- Choose Upload photo, pick an image, and crop it. You can also switch to Initials or pick an Icon instead of a photo. Later, Edit crop adjusts the photo you uploaded, and Remove photo takes it off.
What you see
- The top card shows your photo, your name, your sign-in email, and chips for the organization you are working in, your role, your employee ID if your admin set one, your primary phone and your time zone.
- Your photo appears in the top bar, on assignments and anywhere else Nova shows who you are.
Change your customer photo
While working in an organization, find My customer photo on Overview. This is separate from the personal photo at the top. Select the customer photo to upload, crop, replace or remove it. Choose a clear, current photo of yourself. Changes save after processing; a missing photo means no image is sent.
Your organization decides whether you can edit it and which messages include it. Technician and Senior technician roles allow changing your own customer photo by default. Junior technician does not. An administrator can change role permissions or allow or deny it for one person. The permission only covers your own photo in this organization; it does not let you edit other people's names or photos.
Switch organizations to manage the photo for another organization. Uploading a customer photo never turns customer photo sharing on. See Choose the team names and photos customers see.
If something looks different
- Username, Primary email and Primary phone are greyed out. They are changed elsewhere: your username on the Security tab (Change your password and keep your sign-in secure), and your email and phone on the Contacts tab (Add, verify or change your email and phone).
- Save changes stays greyed out: nothing has changed yet.
- Your role shown on the card is set by your admin. You cannot change it here.
