Add, verify or change your email and phone
Add an email address or phone number to your profile, verify it with a link or a code, choose which one is primary, and remove the ones you no longer use.
Select your picture or initials at the right end of the top bar, then select Contacts in your account menu. You can also open Profile and choose the Contacts tab. The page, headed My Contact Info, has two cards: Email addresses and Phone numbers. The page address is /profile/contacts.
Your primary email is the one you sign in with and where Nova emails you. Your primary phone is where sign-in codes and text alerts go, so keep both current.
Steps
- To add an email, type it in Email under Email addresses. Add a Label such as "Work" if you like. Turn on Primary to make it your main address. The Public switch is optional. Select Add email.
- To add a phone, type it in Phone number under Phone numbers and give it a Label such as "Mobile". Switch on Can text if it takes text messages and Voice capable if it takes calls. Turn on Primary to make it your main number. Select Add phone.
- Next to the new email or phone, select Verify.
- For an email, select Send verification email and open the link in that inbox. For a phone, choose Text message or Phone call, then select Send verification text or Call me.
- For a phone, type the 6-digit code in the box that opens under the number and select Confirm. Nova shows "Phone number verified." Code not arriving? Select Resend code (or Call again), or Try another way to switch between a text and a call.
- To change a label or make another one primary, select Edit, change it, and select Save.
- To remove one you no longer use, select Remove, then Remove again to confirm.
What you see
Each email and phone shows its label and chips: Primary, Public, Text enabled, Voice capable and whether it is verified. A primary phone you have confirmed recently shows Current confirmed with the date.
If something looks different
- Remove is greyed out: you cannot remove your primary email or phone. Make another one primary first. Nova also keeps at least one of each.
- Your primary phone shows Confirm current and a note such as This primary phone is due for reconfirmation. Nova asks now and then that your number is still yours, so sign-in codes reach you. Select it and enter the code.
- The email card says the verification email was sent: Nova is waiting for you to open the link. Resend email sends another, and Dismiss hides the reminder.
- Manual verify appears only for an admin whose role may mark a contact as verified without a code. It asks for a reason.
