Find the accounts with the biggest overdue balances

Use the A/R Detail report to list every account that owes you money, sort by open or overdue balance, search for one customer, and jump to their billing page to follow up.

Updated in release 0.0.1 Needs permission from your admin Open this page in Nova

In the sidebar, open Reports, then Receivables, then A/R Detail. The page address is /insights/finance/accounts-receivable/detail.

Before you start

  • Your admin has to give your role permission to view finance reporting. Exporting the list needs a separate export permission.
  • One row per Effective account: the account that gets the bill. If one account pays for several others, those appear under Source accounts on its row.

Steps

  1. Set Date range (end) under the filters. Balances are taken as of that date.
  2. To narrow the list, pick a Branch, an Effective / payer account, a Source account or a Currency focus.
  3. Choose what to sort by: Open balance, Overdue balance or Oldest due date, then Desc or Asc. Largest overdue balance first is Overdue balance and Desc.
  4. To find one customer, type in the search box. Its prompt reads Search effective or source accounts.
  5. Press the account name in the Effective account column to open that customer's billing page and take the next step: a statement, a reminder or a payment.
  6. Press Print for a printable copy, or Export to queue a file. See Export a finance report.
  7. Press Saved views to keep this set of filters and sorting for next time.

What you see

  • Chips under the heading Accounts receivable detail repeat the as-of date, the number of rows and every filter in force.
  • Columns: Effective account, Source accounts, Open balance, Overdue, Unapplied, Collections status and Statement activity.
  • Collections status reads Normal unless the account is flagged, in which case it reads Dispute. A promise-to-pay date appears underneath when one has been recorded.
  • Statement activity shows when the last statement was sent and whether the customer viewed it, or reads No statement sent.
  • On a phone the table becomes cards with the same figures.
  • Back to A/R summary returns you to the overview with the same filters.

If something looks different

  • No receivable accounts match the current filters.: widen the dates or clear the account and currency filters.
  • Export does nothing and a message says you do not have permission: ask your admin for the export permission.
  • The filter footer turns red with a date message: the end date is before the start date.
