Read an operational asset's page
Open one van, trailer, kit or tool and find its readiness, contents, documents, service, issues, custody and history on the tabs of its page.
In the sidebar, open Equipment & Fleet, then Assets, and press an asset's name. The page address is /assets/ followed by the asset, and each tab adds its own name, such as /documents, so you can bookmark or share a tab. The heading is the asset's name, with its class, branch and asset tag under it.
Steps
- Read the dark card at the top of Overview: the asset's photo (press it to change the photo, if your role can edit assets), its readiness and lifecycle badges, Asset tag, Class, Branch and Updated. Under them, a red Dispatch blocked box lists up to three reasons the asset cannot go out, an amber Readiness warnings box lists warnings, or a green line says nothing is blocking it.
- Read the six tiles: Contents, Supply gaps, Missing documents, Open issues, Active assignments and History.
- Press a tab along the top to see one part of the asset:
- Contents: the kit parts and equipment installed in it, and the parts its profile requires. See Change what is inside an asset or kit.
- Supplies: each consumable the asset should carry, what it holds now and the gap.
- Documents: Required compliance (what the profile expects and whether it is on file) and Current documents with their review state and expiry.
- Programs: service programs, service events, checklists and meter readings.
- Checklists: Asset checklists, where you start one with Create asset checklist.
- Issues: the Issue log, with blocking issues counted apart.
- Assignments: the Assignment history of who or which branch or work order had the asset.
- History: the Canonical event history of inspections, installs, repairs, transfers and document checks, each with its date and summary.
- Readiness: why the asset is ready, warning or blocked, and any override. See Let a blocked asset go out with a readiness override.
- To run a checklist, report a problem or log a reading the way a technician does, press Field execution. It opens the technician screen with this asset loaded: see Record field work on an asset.
- To make a second asset like this one, press Duplicate asset. Type the Asset name (Nova suggests the name plus "Copy"), press Continue, optionally type an Optional asset tag, then press Duplicate asset. Nova opens the new asset.
What you see
- Telemetry appears when your role can see tracker data. It shows whether a tracker is linked, when it last reported, and its meter snapshots.
- Actions appears when your role can add asset records. Its Advanced actions forms add relationships, checklist templates, service programs, service events, meter readings, issues, documents, assignments and stocking rules for any asset.
- Operational identity on Overview repeats the class and profile (both are links), ownership, manufacturer and model, whether the asset holds others, its lifecycle and your notes.
- The buttons Out of service, Return to service and Retire asset change the asset's lifecycle: see Take an asset out of service or retire it.
- Back to registry returns to the asset list; Reports and Setup open those pages.
If something looks different
- A tab shows a note such as "Documents permission required": your role can open the asset but not that part of it. Ask your admin.
- Telemetry, Checklists or Actions is missing: your role cannot see that tab, so Nova hides it and opens Overview instead.
- The address points at an asset that no longer exists: Nova says "Asset doesn't exist." and returns you to the asset list.
- A tab says "Unable to load" something: reload the page.
