Review asset automation
Use the Asset Automation hub to see which automated follow-ups are running on your vans, trailers and kits, pause or stop one, and review what is waiting for approval.
In the sidebar, open Automation, then By Area, then Equipment. The page address is /assets/lifecycle. The page heading reads Asset lifecycle hub. It watches the automated follow-ups that run on operational assets, such as creating an internal task when an asset needs readiness attention, and lets you pause or stop one.
Before you start
- Your role needs permission to view operational assets to open the page, and the lifecycle automation view permission to see anything on it. Without the second, the page shows Lifecycle access is unavailable.
- Pausing, resuming and stopping a sequence, reviewing approvals, seeing step details and creating automations each need their own permission. Buttons for actions you cannot take are greyed out or missing.
Steps
- Read the four tiles at the top: Visible automations, Pending approvals, Open enrollments (finished and stopped sequences are counted too) and Next scheduled action.
- Scroll to Actionable enrollments. It shows the eight most recently updated assets inside an automation. Each row names the automation and shows its Status, Subject, Current step and Next due date. Upcoming steps are listed under Scheduled actions needing operator visibility.
- To hold a sequence, press Pause lifecycle sequence on its row. Its scheduled steps wait until you press Resume. Resume only works while the automation itself is still active.
- To end a sequence for good, press Suppress future actions and confirm in Suppress future lifecycle actions?. Nova cancels the remaining steps; the history stays.
- Press Why this happened to see the details behind a scheduled step, Open record to jump to the asset, or View automation to open the automation.
- To handle approvals, press Work domain approvals under Quick actions to open the queue for assets only. On a request press Review and decide, add a note if you like, then press Approve candidate or Reject candidate. Review next approval opens the next waiting request directly; Global approval queue opens every area of Nova.
What you see
- Active automations lists up to six automations set up for assets, whatever their status, each with its Journey, Scope and when it was Updated, plus Builder, Runtime and Insights links.
- Pending approvals lists requests waiting on a decision, for roles that review approvals.
- Interventions and holds collects policy blocks, holds and failed steps that need attention, for roles that can see step details.
- Recent asset lifecycle activity shows what ran lately; Asset lifecycle analytics shows results, or Lifecycle analytics are unavailable when your role cannot see analytics.
- Open asset registry returns to the list of assets. Open control plane goes to the organization-wide automation pages.
If something looks different
- A Quick actions card shows View only, Approval review gated, Analytics gated or Content access gated: your role lacks that permission.
- "Paused enrollments can only resume while the parent automation is active": open the automation with View automation and press Activate automation first.
- Create asset automation (or the shortcut under Create or extend) opens a builder drawer with the Asset readiness preset already applied (Preset applied) and a name filled in. Press Create automation: Nova saves it as a draft and opens its builder page, where you finish and turn it on. To stop or pause one asset, use the row actions above.
- Active automations is empty: none has been created for this branch or organization yet.
- The same hub exists for projects and tasks: see Review work automation.
