Open a quote the company sent you

What the email or text with your quote contains, where its button goes, how long the link works, and the confirmation you get after approving.

Updated in release 0.0.1 Open this page in Nova

When the company prices your work, it sends you the quote by email, text or both. The email's subject is "Quote", the quote number, then "from" the company's name. The text says "Here's your quote" with its number and ends with a link.

Steps

  1. Open the email and select its button: "Review and approve quote" when you can answer online, or "View quote securely" when you can only read it. In a text, select the link after "View quote".
  2. The quote opens on a secure page with the company's name at the top, laid out like the paper copy.
  3. Read the lines, the total and any payment schedule, then approve it, ask for changes or decline it. See Approve, ask for changes, or decline a quote.

What you see

  • Most quote emails also carry a PDF copy of the quote, for your records.
  • The link works for 90 days unless the company set another time, or until the quote's own deadline.
  • After you approve, you get an email whose subject says the company "received your approval" of the quote, with the total. If a deposit is due, it says the company will follow up with the next steps, or you get a separate email asking for the deposit; see Open an invoice or deposit request the company sent you.
  • Asking for changes or declining sends you no email. The company sees your answer and contacts you.

If something looks different

  • If you ignore the quote, nothing is booked or charged. The company may send a follow-up before it expires. See Answer a quote follow-up.
  • The link says it has expired or can no longer be used: ask the company to send the quote again, or sign in to the portal and open Quotes. See See your quotes.
  • The button does not work: copy the link printed under it into your browser.
  • To reply with a question, answer the email or text. It goes to the company.
