Open a statement the company sent you
What the statement email or text shows, where its button goes, and what to do about the balance on it.
A statement sums up your account with the company: what you owed at the start of a period, what happened during it, and what you owe now. The company emails it, often on a regular schedule such as once a month. The subject is "Statement", its number, then "from" the company's name. A text version says your statement "is ready" and ends with a link.
Steps
- Read the summary in the email: the current balance, a balance summary, how old the unpaid amounts are, and the open items.
- Select "View statement securely" to open the full statement on a secure page. In a text, select the link after "View statement".
- To pay, open an unpaid invoice from the statement and pay it there. See Read your statement and Pay an invoice online.
What you see
- Most statement emails carry a PDF copy of the statement for your records.
- The link works for 90 days unless the company set another time.
- A statement is a summary, not a new bill: paying the invoices it lists settles it.
If something looks different
- If you ignore a statement, nothing changes on its own. The invoices on it stay due, and payment reminders for them may still come.
- A balance looks wrong, or a payment you made is missing: reply to the email so the company can check. A statement shows the payments recorded up to the day it was made.
- The link says it has expired: sign in to the portal and open Statements, or ask the company to send it again.
- To stop statements, ask the company. See Stop emails or texts from a company.
