Create a work order
Create a work order with a known time, a date to confirm, or no date yet, and optionally repeat the work.
Open Schedule, press New, and choose Work order. The form opens in a drawer. Work orders must be enabled for the organization and your role must allow creating them.
Create the work
- Choose the customer and service location. The branch follows your current work scope; change it when needed and permitted.
- Under When is the work?, choose Choose a date and time, Choose a date; decide the time later, or Decide later.
- Set the known date and time. Add an arrival window if the customer needs one.
- Choose a work-order service template when required. Appointment services are kept separate, even when they take place at a customer's home.
- Assign someone now or leave the assignment for later. Add any required service details. Open optional notes and extra details when needed.
- Check the customer-message choice and save.
The drawer closes and the work appears on the Schedule, or under Unscheduled when its date is undecided. It also appears in Work Orders.
Repeated work
For timed work, Repeat creates a separate work order for each date, with its own completion, billing and messages. Choose how often and when to stop. Nova checks all dates before saving the repeat.
Open a repeated visit and choose Manage repeat to review the unfinished work from that date onward. You can change those dates together or cancel the remaining work. Finished work stays in history. If anything has changed since you reviewed it, refresh the list before trying again.
Existing work
Open Unscheduled to give an existing work order a date. You do not need to create another record. One work order can have several visits; cancelling one visit does not cancel the others. Cancelling the work order releases all unfinished visits and keeps completed visits in its history.
The new-work-order drawer keeps optional dispatch details collapsed. Choose Add dispatch details when you need an internal title, notes or customer summary.
