Book an appointment

Book a service appointment from the Schedule, choose its location and time, and optionally repeat it.

Updated in release 0.0.1 Needs permission from your admin Open this page in Nova

Open Schedule, press New, and choose Appointment. The appointment opens in a drawer, so you keep your place on the calendar.

Before you start

Appointments must be enabled in Settings → Schedule → What do you schedule?, included in your plan, and allowed by your role. Your organization needs an appointment service to select.

An appointment can take place at your business, at the customer’s location, or online. Location does not turn an appointment into a work order. Choose a work order when the work needs work tracking through completion.

Book the appointment

  1. Choose the customer and service.
  2. Choose the location type offered by that service. For a visit to the customer, choose their service location.
  3. Choose who receives customer messages. Leave the suggested contact when it is correct.
  4. Pick a date and an available time, or choose a day with the time still to be confirmed.
  5. If needed, turn on Repeat and choose how often and when it ends.
  6. Complete any required details. Equipment and extra details are only needed when the service calls for them.
  7. Press Book appointment.

Nova checks the required people, equipment and capacity before saving. Repeated dates that need attention are reported. Open the appointment to change its time, cancel it, or cancel this and later bookings. Completed bookings stay in history.

Customer messages

The confirmation and reminders follow Settings → Customer messages → Appointments. A private service name is excluded unless the service is explicitly configured to include it. Message history belongs to the appointment, whether staff or the customer booked it.

Finish an appointment

Open the appointment and use Status to mark it completed, or record a no-show. Completion starts any optional follow-up or review message enabled for Appointments. Moving past the appointment’s end time does not mark it complete or send those messages.
